The train from Poland to Croatia will travel faster. "We are dependent on renovations."

Trains from Warsaw to Rijeka have already ended their journeys for this year. However, the Ministry is confident that the summer connection will return next summer. Dariusz Klimczak admitted on RMF24 that the direct connection to Croatia has been a great success. The key goal now is to shorten the journey time, which currently takes as long as nineteen hours. However, renovations, including those taking place outside Poland, may hinder the route.
Trains to Rijeka will not run in autumn and winterA longer interruption in rail connections from Warsaw to Rijeka lies ahead. Direct trains that have been carrying passengers between Poland and Croatia since the end of June have now ceased operations on this route. As Dariusz Klimczak stated in an interview with RMF24, the connection has proven to be a "great success." "Passengers have been requesting this type of direct connection from Poland for many years. In total, we transported 9,300 passengers; these are my latest figures from a few weeks ago," the minister stated.
Shorter travel times next yearThe Ministry confirms that although autumn and winter mean a break in seasonal train services, tickets to Rijeka will be available again in the summer. Importantly for many passengers, PKP Intercity will try to make the journey at least a little shorter. "Next year, the train to Croatia will also run, and most importantly, it will take less time. It took nineteen hours this time, so we'd like to shave some time off that journey," says Klimczak, noting that there may be challenges along the way. "We're dependent on renovations," he adds.
During the inaugural season, there were some mishaps. Klimczak spoke, among other things, about power outages that occurred abroad and resulted in high temperatures in the carriages. "We had a major problem because there was a power outage at the final station in Rijeka. We had to order special units to cool the carriages before the next passengers boarded," the minister explained.
